bittersweet

For the first time ever, Delaney answered my question.
Actually, I should clarify- she answered with something other than "yes". We were driving home last night, alone (Cory had taken the older kids with him to a dog thing...), and i asked her if she wanted to eat pizza with me. i wasn't really listening to her, because i was really expecting her to answer back with her standard, "yes".
but then I heard it.
"No, mommy. i want mac n cheese".
I paused and then asked her again. And she said the same thing.
"No, mommy. i want mac n cheese".
it was kind of a bittersweet moment. She answered, YAYYYY, but then also, she was speaking her mind...and soon, very soon, that was going to be in direct conflict with my mind.
it is so hard to imagine that i am experiencing all these little moments for the "last time".
Sometimes i really do want another baby....
